If you're passionate about the arts and culture and want to contribute to making Fairfax County one of the best places to live, work, and play, then you should check out our promotion page. Unfortunately, this organization doesn't have any active volunteer opportunities at the moment. However, there are thousands of other organizations that need your help. Recently, renowned cultural activist Grace Lee Boggs gave a speech at the Animating Democracy National Exchange on Art & Civic Dialogue.
In her speech, she highlighted the issues facing the United States today, such as unemployment, an education system full of problems, and resentment of its economic, military, and cultural dominance. ArtsFairfax is a 501(c) organization designated as Fairfax County's local art agency. It is funded by Fairfax County, the Virginia Arts Commission, the National Endowment for the Arts, corporations, foundations, and individuals. Brenda has a master's degree in Arts Administration from Golden Gate University and a degree in Theater Arts from California State University in Fresno. Additionally, the BVA's national network provides volunteers with communication opportunities with other program partners, exchange of ideas about the program, training sessions, contacts with local offices of multinational companies operating in other cities, a national forum for public relations and image creation, and advice and guidance from professionals who have been involved in the program for many years. We collaborate with Virginians for the Arts to promote participation in Arts Promotion Day which is celebrated in January before the Legislature of the State of Richmond (Virginia).
The mission of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association is to promote education, appreciation, participation, and excellence in all forms of art and crafts; to establish and administer programs; and to own, operate, and maintain facilities that can enrich the cultural life of the Northern Virginia metropolitan area.
